Bergit Rockmore - Rockmore's First CousinIn 1996, Bergit left the dreary winters of New York and the East Coast to settle in the beauty and warmth of Tucson, Arizona. She and her husband, John, now live in the Catalina home they designed and built in 2001. That home is filled with works created by three generations of accomplished and recognized Rockmore artists, including: Bergit herself; her mother, Cynthia; her father, Julian; her cousin, Noel Rockmore; her aunt, Gladys Rockmore Davis; and her uncle, Floyd Davis. Her ancestors' works are now part of many prestigious collections and galleries world wide.
Although painting is Bergit's first love, her vast creative interests also include; fabric sculpture, designing clothing and accessories, and embellishing with beads, embroidery and lace. She is also a busy jewelry designer, cutting and polishing her own stones then creating sterling silver pieces into which the stones are set. Her notecard line, Fat Rabbit Cards, is always expanding as each new painting becomes another card.
